Zaheer & I have gotten the Toy Fair bug in a big way- we are especially loving being able to meet so many collectors and fans of pop culture toys in person at these events!

Stafford Showground Toy Fair
Sunday 13th March 2022
Wow what a day! Zaheer & I had an early start to the day with a 3.40am alarm going off which signaled the start of our adventure. We were off to sell at the Stafford Showground Toy Fair. We choose not to stay over night close to the venue, instead opted for a 93 mile road trip on the day. Which I have to say seemed very daunting, as I know for myself I’m not a very happy morning person, unless I have had a coffee!
We managed to load the car with a selection of the cool products and set off at 4.10am. Travelling on the motor way was not as daunting as we first thought and time passed quickly. We arrived at approximately 6am in Stafford, breakfast was our next mission. We opted to locate the nearest McDonalds, to have some breakfast before heading to the toy fair.
Arriving At The Toy Fair & Setting Up Our Stall.
Finally we arrived at the Stafford Showground Toy Fair at a few minutes past 7am and promptly looked to parking to unload our stock and find our stall for the day. We were located in the second hall towards the back of the hall (but close to the toilets which is always a bonus). We were surrounded by some fantastically different stalls selling die-cast cars, train sets & collectable figures.
The early bird entry started from 8.30am where customers who pay an increased fee to enter in order to get first dibs on what is on offer. We swiftly set up our stall and displayed our items in the best way possible.
We are pretty new to the toy fairs, so are learning the best ways to display our products for our customers. Each stall we have put together, has been slightly different from the last and I feel this stall is our best yet.
The Toy Fair.
The morning seemed to start slowly but once it reached 10.30am, footfall into the toy fair halls seemed to steadily increase. Luckily for me when it was quiet, Zaheer watched the stall. Which meant I was able to start a Trick ‘R Treat Sam amigurumi crochet pattern, that I am working on.
With so much going on it was amazing at how fast time passed, considering the overall length of the day. We met some familiar faces at the the event and some new faces too. Its always so enjoyable being able to chat and meet new people that have similar interests to yourself.
Packing Up & Travelling Home.
It reached 3pm and it was time to start packing the stall up and reload the stock back into the car. Both tired from the day, there were some last minute perks as we packed up. We were able to get some pies that the showground café were selling at a reduced price, as they obviously did not want them to go to waste.
Bellies full, the car loaded back up with our stock we made our journey back home, to see our daughters not to forget Alf the Puggle and Kiyomi, our cat.
A big thank you to the wonderful people at Barry Potter Toy Fairs, who organize these events. Also, thank you to all the customers that stopped by our stall to browse and have a chat. Both myself and Zaheer are looking forward to the next Toy Fair, which will be held at NEC Birmingham on Sunday 20th March.
